Taxpayer wait times at the IRS have dropped from an average of 27 minutes a year ago to just four minutes this tax season. The IRS has said that funding provided by the Inflation Reduction Act promoted by Democrats last year has enabled it to improve this turnaround in customer service, which has seen it answer 2 million more calls and serve 100,000 more taxpayers in-person compared to the previous year.
