Three barges on the Ohio River got loose on Tuesday, and crews are working to remove them on Wednesday while the McAlpine Locks and Dam are closed. One of the three barges was carrying around 1,400 tons of methanol and is partially submerged. Methanol is a colorless liquid known to be flammable and acutely toxic, but the Louisville Metro Emergency Services says it has zero evidence of a tank breach or any leaks.
