Hollywood actors join screenwriters in historic industry-stopping strike as contract talks collapse

Hollywood's actors' union, SAG-AFTRA, has voted to go on strike in a joint action with screenwriters, the first time two Hollywood unions have simultaneously done so since 1960. The walkout comes after talks for a new contract with studios and streaming services broke down, with actors joining writers on picket lines outside of TV and film studios in New York and Los Angeles.
