It's very windy and dry in Hawaii: Strong gusts complicate wildfires and prompt evacuations

Hawaii has been hit by wildfires that led to several communities being evacuated and destroyed at least two homes. Strong winds from Hurricane Dora, which was passing 500 miles to the south, meant the risk of fires increased. Maui and the Big Island faced major wildfires, which burnt through 1,100 acres and has seen 80 people evacuated.
