TikTok attorney: China can't get US data under plan

TikTok's top attorney has defended the company's plan to shield the data of US users from China, amid concerns that ByteDance, the Chinese parent company of the video-sharing platform, could hand over user data to the Chinese government. ByteDance's general counsel, Erich Andersen, described a new social app called Lemon8, developed by the company, as being in the "startup phase".
