The US Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, announced the creation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Task Force to assess the responsible use of AI for both protecting national security and fighting criminal activity. The task force will explore ways to use AI to better screen cargo and protect against illicit goods such as fentanyl or products made with slave labour.
