US imposes sanctions on Lebanese brothers over corruption

The United States has imposed sanctions on two Lebanon-based brothers, along with their companies, accusing them of engaging in corrupt practices that contribute to the breakdown of rule of law in their country. The move was aimed at businessmen Raymond Zina Rahme and Teddy Zina Rahme for obtaining government contracts through opaque processes, with one of these contracts reportedly linked to importing fraudulent fuel that caused considerable harm to Lebanon's power stations.
